Nationally Recognised Training

This qualification provides individuals with technical and non-technical aviation skills to operate effectively in a broad range of aerodrome operational roles.

Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement and to take limited responsibility in known and stable contexts within established parameters.

This qualification forms some of the requirements for appointment in job roles by the aerodrome operator in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR) Part 139 Aerodromes.

This qualification replaces and is not  equivalent to AVI30516 Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations).

Packaging Rules

A total of 15 units of competency  comprising:

9 core units  listed below plus :

6 general elective units  from the general elective units listed below. Up to 2 of the general elective units  may be selected from any relevant nationally endorsed Training Package or accredited course. The general elective units must contribute to the vocational outcomes of the qualification.

Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with.

Requirements

  • To participate in our Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) AVI30119 you must have:
  • A sufficient level of English language. To demonstrate your English language competency you can provide us evidence of: English language proficiency (Year 10 English or equivalent) and a minimum of six month of vocational experience or contact us to schedule a language, literacy and numeracy assessment
  • An Australian driver’s licence
  • Previous operational experience at an aerodrome or any other aviation organisation, with pre-existing knowledge and skills in the operations involving aircraft and airside movements, radio operations and reporting.
  • There are prerequisites for enrolment to the recognition of prior learning pathway:
  • 6 months of operational experience as an aerodrome reporting officer at a registered or certified aerodrome.
  • Government inspector (Aerodromes) with 6 months of operational experience
  • Department of Defence Member with 6 months of operational experience in aerodrome operations
