This course is specifically designed to meet the needs of people working in the childcare and early childhood learning industry. This course is tailored towards anyone working with children. It covers child specific first aid in many high-risk areas such as anaphylaxis and asthma as well as common injuries and resuscitation. Assessment is through a combination of practical first aid activities and a written test paper. You will be required to demonstrate CPR on a manikin on the floor.
The Child Care First Aid course presents the following key skills and knowledge:

Course Title: Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
Mode of Delivery: e-Learning plus face-to-face classroom training and assessment
Duration: Complete E-Learning, and
1-day attendance for practical assessment, or
2-day face to face training sessions available
Course Format : This is a blended course with self-paced online learning (e-Learning) and face-to-face training. Before attending the face-to-face training, students need to complete their e-Learning, which can be done in one sitting or over several sessions. Depending on the student’s learning ability, they should allow up to 6 hours for reading and e-Learning. Face-to-face training and assessment takes 5 hours in a classroom environment.
Assessment : Written, practical and scenario-based assessment
Age Requirement: Minimum age is 14 Years
Certificate Valid: Competencies included on Statement of Attainment
Who Can Attend?
This course is for students with existing first aid experience or for those who are new to first aid and comfortable learning in a blended delivery setting
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), remote area first aid, the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. Hence, a diploma in first aid will certify the learner to undertake the duties and job of a first aid provider. Our instructors are trained first aid providers, therefore, apply for first aid course (NSTA) to gain a diploma.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings, NSTA can offer the following first aid courses in our professional training centres or in your own workplace.
